Episode 38: A Very Digi-Christmas

In the dub, Sora brings cookies for Matt, and meets Tai along the way. Sora seemingly rejects Tai, but Tai says that he'll "be waiting", and Sora responds that she'll make "special cookies" for him, implying an underlying relationship between the two.

However, in the original version, Tai meets Sora outside Matt's concert, where she has been waiting to give Matt a homemade treat. While she is shy about going forward with it, Tai realizes she is about to confess her feelings to Matt and pushes her to do it.

Later, Matt rescues Sora from the falling debris made by the attacking Digimon.

When Davis returns home, his sister Jun is watching TV, with a ripped up ticket from Matt's concert on the table in front of her. Jun looks at the ticket and remarks: (in reference to Matt) "That jerk! I can't believe he chose her instead of me," possibly referring to Sora.

Episode 45: The Dark Gate

When Davis comes home late and Jim (Joe's brother) apologizes for being so late, Jun (Davis' sister) falls in love with him. While Davis says he thought Jun was in love with Matt, there is a flashback from episode 38 where Matt saves Sora. Jun states this to be the reason she gives up on Matt.

Episode 48: Oikawa's Shame

Izzy asks Matt if it bothers him that Sora is with Tai instead of him. Matt said that Tai is his best friend and that Tai knows how he feels and he completely trusts Sora.

When Izzy is showing the pictures of the DigiDestined on the internet there is one of Matt and Sora together, shopping alone.
